MISSION

"Reducing our levels of consumption will not be a sacrifice but a bonus if we simply redefine the meaning of the word ‘success.’" – David Wann ❤️

Our intent is to create a company model that strives for transparency, sustainability and encourages environmental and socio-economic changes through the use of our local community network. Introducing and furthering our knowledge to inspire the adoption of new routines or lifestyles that are more eco and health conscious. Growing our company with this vision in mind was born from what we believe is a necessity: human connection and growth. This, we believe, will result in a more unified community that provides resources not just to survive, but to THRIVE. It is imperative to our growth that small businesses and entrepreneurs we are building with are growing and thriving as well.

Like our supporters, we are still growing and learning to transition and incorporate sustainable practices in our every day lives. Imagine, what kind of change could occur if each of us reduced even 20% of our consumption and waste? It would be a beautiful thing! With your support in our vision, we can make a greener and cleaner planet more possible.

Lastly, we believe in giving back! So 5% of profits go toward organizations that have inspired and gave direction to this company and its values. We thank you for your support!

OPERATION: CANDLES

(3 Strategies)

  1. Transition consumers from paraffin wax to an alternative sustainable and renewable wax such as soy.

  2. Encourage the idea of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, (& Relax)” through our products, sharing an old, yet very relevant idea that our planet desperately needs!

  3. Localize to support local/small businesses to build a stronger local economy and sense of community.

Why Soy?

Soy wax burns cleaner and 30-50% longer than typical candles. It is a renewable and sustainable resource (also vegan-friendly), which makes it an excellent alternative to its counterpart: Paraffin, which is the most common, yet dangerous wax used in candle making.

So what is paraffin? It is a petroleum by-product that is created  from the sludge waste when crude oil is refined into gasoline, and it has been linked to many respiratory health issues and concerns.

Learning about the dangers of burning paraffin wax is actually what initially encouraged me to make my own candles. To help transition myself, and my family and friends into doing the same. I was hesitant to pursue my candle company, but I figure if people burn candles as part of their lifestyle, they could have a cleaner and more eco-conscious alternative.

If we wouldn’t burn it around our family, friends, and children.. we wouldn’t sell it!

WhAT DOES "EARTH CULTURE" MEAN?

The meaning behind the name “Earth Culture” is the belief that we can live a technologically advanced world, yet still be kind to mother earth and all its inhabitants. That we are all on our own path, however no matter where each of us are in our life spiritually, educationally, economically or otherwise; we can respect that we are all doing our best knowing that learning and growing is a lifelong journey!

Like Malcom X once said, “Don't be in such a hurry to condemn a person because he doesn't do what you do, or think as you think. There was a time when you didn't know what you know today." We believe in educating with love and understanding as a tool to create lasting change for generations to come. We know that life is much too complicated to paint broad strokes across groups of people, and don’t believe in shaming those who have not incorporated sustainable habits in to their lives. With that said, we are here to encourage and help should you decide to!

The Earth Culture Company believes with small incremental changes in habits, beliefs or patterns; as a society, we can spread our vision and co-create the dream of living in a more unified society that puts love, all peoples, and the environment over power and profit. The Earth Culture Company believes in treating people fairly, but also believes in treating itself fairly as well. We have no tolerance for intolerance, hate or abuse. We believe it is our duty as human beings, to at least be kind to one another.
